At Mackay Medical Services for Reproductive Medicine, we offer:

Preparing for an IVF treatment at Mackay Memorial Hospital (MMH)
Step I: Send your information to us
Please email your information to us at the International Medical Service Center (IMSC). Our email address is: mmhimsc@mmh.org.tw

Please include the following information for you and your spouse:
* Age
* Years of marriage
* Copies of related records and reports (ie. Semen analysis, AMH, TSH, prolactin, HSG, etc.)
* Infertility history
Infertility treatment history, if any (ie. Name & dosage of any medication you have been taking, number of follicles from previous treatments.)
 
Step II: Evaluation of your case by a MMH fertility specialist
Your case will be reviewed by a MMH fertility specialist who will give suggestions based on the information you have provided. If you are a possible candidate for IVF treatment, you will receive a proposed treatment plan and be asked to come to Mackay Memorial Hospital for a more comprehensive in-person assessment.
 
Step III: Required Examinations
To be done in your country before coming to MMH for the in-person assessment:
* Hysterosalpingogram (HSG): x-ray films (must be done within the last 2 years)
To do in MMH:
* Semen analysis
* AMH(Anti-Mullerian Hormone)
* Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and syphilis tests (must be done within the last 6 months)
 
Step IV: Required Documents

1.Passports (You and your spouse). Original and 1 photocopy needed.
2.Official Photo ID (You and your spouse) ie. Driver’s license. Original and 1 photocopy needed.
3.Official marriage certificate (in English or Chinese. Documents in all other languages must be translated). Original and 1 photocopy needed.
 
Step V: Applying for a visa to Taiwan
Visa-waiver entry to Taiwan:
Individuals holding a valid visa to the following countries/regions, or is a permanent resident of the following countries/regions are eligible to enter Taiwan without obtaining a visa:
* U.S.A.
* Canada
* Japan
* U.K.
* EU Schengen
* Australia
* New Zealand
However, you must register and get approval beforehand at https://oa1.immigration.gov.tw/nia_southeast/

For other Filipino passport holders
To make a trip to Taiwan for the in-person assessment, please apply for a tourist visa at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines. Their information is as follows:

Step VI: Making arrangements for your in-person assessment

* Please email us a copy of your itinerary and your passport to allow us to help you make an appointment with a MMH fertility specialist.
* IMSC is also available to help you arrange for accommodation and airport pick-up/drop-off services in Taiwan.
 
Step VI: Arrival at MMH for your in-person assessment

You will be received by our IMSC staff when you arrive at the hospital. Our staff will assist you throughout your time with us at MMH. Your in-person assessment will take approximately 2-3 work days.
After the in-person assessment at Mackay Memorial Hospital,
our infertility specialist would determine whether or not you are a good candidate for the IVF treatment.
Brief overview of the IVF treatment
First day of monitoring Blood tests and sonograms to be done
Begin injection for ovarian stimulation
Continue morning monitoring Expect to have blood work and/or sonograms done
A 'Trigger shot' is administered when follicles are mature.
Egg retrieval will be arranged.
Eggs will be observed and an Embryo Transfer(ET) will be arranged.
